Much Later

Luna and Soli, years later, as powerful adventurers fighting evil

Luna Celestë floats above the deck of the gilded spelljammer. On the deck below, Soli speaks with the latest czar, or emperor, or other self-aggrandized parasite.

“Please, this scourge has terrorized our castle, and has kidnapped our nobility!”

What small privileged worlds these rulers always live in. From one side of the Planescape to the other, in every world, we’ve met deities, queens, mayors who refuse to see outside the tiny box of wealth, power, or hatred they almost universally inherited.

“What are it’s demands?”

Soli, please, this - Luna finally gives their “guest” a short glance - this king almost certainly hasn’t tried talking or - gods forbid - listening to this creature making clearly targeted attacks on the oppressors.

“Demands? I don’t understand what you mean, it’s attacking us!”

Obviously, you useless elitist, but maybe it wouldn’t be if you ever allowed a thought outside your own spoiled life. Luna floated back down to the deck behind the guest and nodded over his shoulder to Soli.

“Ok, we will look into it.”

Luna reminded pyreself to do something nice for Soli for always doing the talking with these useless snoots. They had already agreed to help, and already had a pretty good idea of what was going on. But before solving the actual problem, they wanted to ensure problem truly went all the way to the top.

“Thank you! Oh, thank you!”

“Get off our ship. Now.”

As Luna finally spoke, pyres voice dripping in disgust, the king turned with a look of confusion, before slowly the recognition of danger crept into his face. He retreated down the ladder.

“Luna,” Soli began after the fool was out of earshot, “if you could hold back on threatening them we could walk in and do what needs to be done without their guard up every time.”

Luna sighed, pyre was already beginning to glow as pyre focused the celestial strength within into the outward protection and power to begin their assault.

“You aren’t wrong, but I hope every time that a little fear might shift their perspective enough to open their eyes to how they have daily treated their own people the same.”

Soli called orders to the pilot and first mate, making preparation for the sibling’s onslaught.

“I understand. It hasn’t work for the last fifteen though, and it does make my part tougher.”

Luna uttered an incantation and began fading from pyres glowing empowered form into transparency.

“I’ll think about it.”
